Mrs. Woodworth delivered approximately 500 babies over a thirty-five year period.  For many of these years the only doctor’s service available was several hours away by boat in summer, and only accessible by horse or dogsled in winter.  Often she travelled five or six miles on foot to attend a patient. Mrs. Woodworth provided this very important service while at the same time raising a family of nine children.
